I always see Aizen as very thorough and aware of his surroundings, he always knows what's happening and no one can escape him, so what better way that have him scrutinize not only his men but also the ones he used to live with.

It was also a kind of breakthrough to that fic of mine I have on hold for almost a year now, I had to break Ukitake and Kyouraku, but the reasons I was coming up with were always so lame and not enough to justify a separation of such good friends and forever lovers.
