Computerless - update

So I really am computerless! T___T

The techs couldn't do anything to my poor machine; the CPU was fried. There was no way to fix it, only replacing the part but because my computer is so old to replace it they would've to replace most parts 'cos what's out there these days is not compatible with the hardware of my machine. The cost is nearly that of a new computer and with less quality to what's available.

So I'm gonna have to buy a new machine; thankfully Christmas is just around the corner and my birthday is in January, so some extra money will be coming in but still it is going to be an unexpected expense.

In the mean time I'll be using my friend's laptop when he doesn't need it. I got it till next week. Lets see if I can finish and post some fics while I have it.

Lol coincidencia eu fiz hoje uma autopsia ao meu velho MAGI. Lol desconectei tudo. Esta gente poe parafusos a mais num PC >_>;

LOL. Eventualmente tb terei d fazer o mm ao meu pc; fixe era se algumas das partes pudessem ser vendidas. Terei d ver isso.

Lol kt tempo tem? O meu tinha 5 anos mas kd foi a reparar levou uma motherboard e uma fonte d alimentaçao novas p isso essas talves inda sirvam pa kk coisa.

Faz 9 anos um destes dias.XD A única coisa k tem asim mais novo é a memória. O resto é td d origem. Foi uma boa máquina.

Xih catano isso é velho mmo =/ N admira k tenha pifado looool. O meu 1º computador tinha 1Giga d disco. Dps foi feito um update pa 2Gigas. Loool como as coisas evoluem. Era cá um caixote!

LOL. Este era o meu 1º pc, bem sem contar com o spectrumXD Já tinha 20Gb d disco, era um espectáculo nos primeiros anos, e serviu até agora, mas coitado já tava mm nas lonas.

Bolas n sei cm aguentaste tto tempo cum pc tao velho. Devia ser lento cm tudo lol. S bem k eu achava o meu MAGI suportavel até ter nas minhas maos um computador recente e já com 2 Gigas d Ram lol. O MAGI tinha 512 megas coitadinho.

É isso mm, qnd n se tem outro n se nota a diferença. O meu tinha 1Gb Ram, mas um processador era tão leeeeento k fazia dó. Agora qnd comprar um td Xpto com 6Gb d Ram ou assim ek vou saber verdadeiramente uk andei a perder.

Tenho andado a ver uns k n eram assim mto fora das minhas posses, já com 6Gb e td mas tenho k estudar mto bem o mercado e ver as promoções d Natal antes d decidir alg coisa.

Ugh, that sucks!! I hope you didn't lose a bunch of stuff? I'm not sure what a CPU is... but it sounds important! Good luck with your search for a replacement.

Yeah, it sucks big time:( Fortunately I have all my stuff on an external hard-drive and didn't lose anything. From what I gather the CPU it's the processing unit, basically what makes computers work. Thanks:)

That absolutely rots. Thank goodness you have an understanding friend. Does that means you won't be able to get this years mistletoe kisses out? Good thing you thought ahead. Makes me think i should.

Yay for understanding friends as to thinking ahead, I simply got an external hard-drive for my birthday and decided to move everything there, it had nothing with thinking ahead.^^'' Now I'm thinking of backing up everything I have, thrice, just in case.>.< I strongly advise you to do the same; you never know when the pc is gonna freeze or burn out completely.

Oh and rest assured that I'm typing and editing the Mistletoe Kisses and will post them these Holidays, just can't tell you exactly when, as I've no idea myself.

BLERG! Serious bummer there babe. It's nice your friend can give you a hand by lending his, but it totally sucks you're gonna have to go for a new one. I know all about unexpected expenses we had to buy a new washer and dryer. merry christmas to us I guess... sigh.

I hope you get a new computer in short order.

Yeah, I've some nice friends:] I was already thinking of buying a new computer but it was just a remote idea, nothing so immediate. Anyway I'm guessing I'll have a new machine by New Year.
And OUCH! A washer and a dryer at the same time, that's gotta hurt the family budget.
